Since the grand opening - in 2010, Prague Thrift Store has achieved many of our goals. Both charitable and in terms of organization sustainability. In the article below, you can learn more about the charitable works and milestones we've accomplished to date...
2010 September – We rented our first store to determine if the concept of an charitable thriftshop would work in Prague, the results were very encouraging!
2011 January – Building on the success of our concept test, we opened our first store at Sumavska Street in Prague 2.
2011- Started our charitable programs by supporting Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter in Kladno and giving quality second hand clothing to homeless residents of Prague in need.
2011 July - Helped with collecting and donating English educational material for orphanage in Kosovo.
2011 December - Organised our first Christmas Party at the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2012 January - The first Fundraising Fashion Show with IWAP. Album on facebook.
2012 December - Organised the second annual Christmas Party at the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2013 March - The Prague Thrift Store's 2nd Annual Fashion Show; IWAP and Prague Thrift Store hosted a charity fashion extravaganza at Žofín Palace to benefit the Azylový dům (Mothers' Shelter) in Kladno. Building on the program from the first year's successful benefit, famous artists and models entertained the audience, and after the fashion show, a raffle, a silent auction, and a clothes-swapping sale took place. Tthe funds raised went towards renovating the bathroom and building a playground at Azylový dům in Kladno. (You can see the results of that effort on this page.)
2013 - IWAP Charity Christmas Market helping to raise funds for the Annual Christmas Party at the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2013 December - Organised our 3rd Annual Christmas Party at the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2014 March - Opened our second thriftshop location in Prague 7.
2014 March – Fashion Show – Raised funds for painting the walls of the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2014 - Raised funds for the charity Nadeje to help them purchase a vehicle for their use.
2014 - IWAP Charity Christmas Market helping to raise funds for the Annual Christmas Party at the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2014 December - Organised our 4th Annual Christmas Party at the Azylovy Dum Mother's Shelter.
2015 March - SKP Hopo Fashion Show to raise funds for replacing the shelter's windows.
2015 - December launched the new model - community involved - YourCharity Sunday project. The firts guest organization SKP HOPO.
2016 - January, The monthly YourCharity project continues - please some pictures in the album on facebook
2016 - February, YourCharity Sunday on the 21st - link to the event to join the guest of this Sunday is Teen Challenge
